Application deadline is February 15, 2008 for applicants seeking funding or requiring a visa to enter the United States. For all other applicants, the deadline is May 16, 2008. This institute consists of several modules to allow domestic and international public health professionals in adolescent health to customize their course of study. Using a variety of learning methodologies, the first week is intended to lay a foundation in the understanding of adolescent health and development; risk and resilience; and the social, demographic, and health trends faced by youth both domestically and internationally. This first module will link this information to public health strategies for adolescent health promotion. Subsequent modules will focus on skill building in motivational interviewing, advocacy and communication, and program evaluation skills. |
