Population, Family and Reproductive Health (PFRH) is an interdisciplinary department whose research, teaching, and practice address population change, sexual and reproductive health, and maternal and child health. Its focus is to promote health, growth, and development across the lifespan, of populations in the United States and worldwide, including mothers and infants, families, adolescents, women, the elderly, and populations with special health care needs.

Research, evaluation, and practice are integral to the department’s academic programs and faculty efforts. Our faculty apply and develop a broad range of methods (drawn from demography, developmental psychology, epidemiology, sociology, health services research, nutrition, economics, communication sciences, policy analysis, behavioral sciences and related disciplines) to research and professional practice.
