Admission Guidelines

  • Bachelor's degree required for all programs. Some work experience strongly recommended for the Master of Health Science program.
  • MPH or equivalent and a minimum of three years full-time work experience in health or human services are required for DrPH. (Please note that acceptance into the MPH program by the School does not guarantee acceptance into the DrPH program).
  • GRE scores are required. LSAT or MCAT will be considered.
  • Three letters of recommendation from professors, teachers, etc., who know your academic abilities best.
  • TOEFL as required.
  • A statement of objectives.
  • Complete JHSPH application. 
  • Application fee: $45 to submit the online application form; $150 to submit the paper application form.
  • Official transcripts from each college or university attended.
  • GPA preferably of at least 3.0.
  • An in-person or telephone interview by mid-February is required for DrPH and PhD candidates and recommended for MHS candidates.
  • Application deadlines for academic year 2007-08 degree programs are:
    January 2, 2008- Both PhD and DrPH Applications
    June 1, 2008- All MHS Program Applications
  • All application materials need to be received by the application deadlines.
