| The MHS in Demography degree program offered by the Department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health is a full-time, one-year course of study designed as a year of specialized training in the study of demography. The educational objectives of the MHS in Demography are twofold. The first is to give students the opportunity to acquire a tool kit of specific substantive and methodological skills applicable to a wide range of public health problems in a wide range of work settings. The second is to increase the spectrum of professional opportunities available to graduates by enabling them to market themselves as trained in demography.
- complete a total of 64 units
- achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher in all course work
- achieve a grade “B” or better in all PFRH courses
- successfully complete an original essay of publishable quality
MHS in Demography Student Handbook While previous work experience in a public health related field is preferred, it is not required for admission to the MHS in Demography program.
