| The Population, Family and Reproductive Health PhD degree program's required core curriculum integrates Departmental perspectives on population, human development, and health across the life span. Graduates of the Department with a PhD are expected to be able to: - Demonstrate mastery of the biological, behavioral, socio-economic, cultural and programmatic factors that influence population processes and family health globally.
- Demonstrate mastery of analytic methods from demography, epidemiology, and statistics.
- Demonstrate the ability to synthesize and interpret theory and empirical analysis through a critical review of the literature.
- Demonstrate the ability to plan, design, implement, and evaluate programs in child and adolescent health; human growth and development; population studies; and reproductive, perinatal, and women's health.
- Conduct publishable, independent, original research.
