The Department has a longstanding commitment to epidemiologic research on Alzheimer's disease and other causes of dementia, as well as on other aspects of aging and mental health. The Center on Aging and Health is dedicated to research that will prevent disease and disability and improve the health and well-being of older adults. The Department is also the site of the Johns Hopkins Center for the Prevention of Youth Violence, which investigates a number of innovative interventions. The Center for Prevention and Early Intervention is a collaborative effort between the Bloomberg School of Public Health, local community partners in prevention and early intervention, and researchers at universities around the country. The Center for Mental Health Initiatives fosters the collaboration of researchers and clinicians, and provides leadership in the implementation of public mental health initiatives. |
