IIRU: Activities

IIRU faculty work with several international organizations, including the following:

World Health Organization (WHO)

  • IIRU faculty serve as core group members on a new global mentoring program called MENTOR-VIP.
  • Faculty have been editors of key global reports on road traffic injuries.
  • Faculty are currently editors of an upcoming global report on child injuries. 

The International Society for Child and Adolescent Injury Prevention (ISCAIP)

  • IIRU Director (Adnan Hyder) serves as the current President of ISCAIP, and IIRU faculty, including Nhan Tran and Prasanthi Puvanachandra, have lectured and presented at the biennial conference of ISCAIP. Dr. Puvanachandra manages its newsletter.

The Road Traffic Injuries Research Network (RTIRN)

  • IIRU Director (Adnan Hyder) serves on the board of RTIRN as the Vice-Chair. RTIRN has supported both strategic research and research coordination activities with IIRU faculty (Adnan Hyder, David Bishai), and IIRU faculty have served as peer reviewers for research proposals submitted to RTIRN.
