As part of the development of LiST for research and projections purposes, we are also developing a version of LiST that allows users to put new or planned interventions into LiST and see how these new interventions would add to a reduction in mortality, given the other interventions that exist in a country.
For example, one could add a partially protective malaria vaccine and see what additional impact this would have in an environment where both ITNs and treatment is being scaled up. Initially one area we are working in is the impact of new interventions and diagnostics related to pneumonia. These include the following 8 new interventions: - Influenza vaccination
- RSV vaccination
- Staphylococcal vaccination
- Non-liquid pediatric antibiotic formulations
- Rapid assay for etiology-specific diagnosis
- Immunomodulating agents for innate immunity
- Novel interventions to reduce indoor air pollution
- Water-free solution for hand disinfection
