The journal BMC Public Health has just published a supplement entitled “Technical inputs, enhancements and applications of the Lives Saved Tool (LiST).” This issue contains 37 articles that provide reviews and analyses of assumptions and methods used in LiST as well as a number of papers that compare the outputs from LiST to measured mortality reductions. A key feature in this supplement is a set of papers that look at the impact of interventions on stillbirths. Based on this work, LiST has been extended to estimate the impact of scaling up interventions on stillbirths in addition to the impact of interventions on maternal, neonatal and child mortality. This new version of LiST was used to estimate the impact of scaling up interventions on stillbirths as well as neonatal and maternal mortality published recently as part of the Lancet Stillbirth series. This supplement is the second of a series of supplements that provide the theoretical and methodological background for the Lives Saved Tool. This supplement was edited by Monica Fox, Reynaldo Martorell, Nynke van den Broek and Neff Walker. Go to Special List Supplement of BMC Public Health. |
