Applications to the PhD programs are considered by faculty admissions committees which review a range of criteria and consider the overall balance of each applicant's qualifications. A strong undergraduate or previous graduate level academic record is expected; for example, 3.65/4.0 GPA (B+). Scores from the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) less then five years old are required for all applicants regardless of academic or professional background. For applicants whose language of college instruction was not English, TOEFL scores are required, with a minimum score of 250. Applications received with TOEFL scores below the minimum are not considered competitive. The personal statement is a central element to the application as it is an opportunity to explain your commitment to the field of public health and specific program or research interests. Applicants should also include a curriculum vitae (C.V.) or resume. |
