The Department of Health Policy and Management offers a research-oriented, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in four areas: Bioethics and Health Policy; Health Economics and Policy; Health Services Research and Policy; and Health and Public Policy. Applicants are admitted to one of these four programs to complete the required curriculum. In addition, there are several areas of specialization available in which students have the opportunity to focus their study. These specialization areas include: Environmental and Occupational Health Policy: Injury Control; Health and Social Policy; Practice of Prevention; and Gerontology. Certificates are available for several of these specializations. The PhD programs are offered on a full-time basis, requiring students to be physically-based at Johns Hopkins' East Baltimore campus for the duration of the coursework portion of the program. |
