The Ideal MPP Applicant

We are looking for a diverse group of individuals that include college graduates, mid-career professionals, returning Peace Corps volunteers and practitioners. Our experience indicates that, in many cases, those who have started a career path utilize the MPP program most effectively. We encourage international students, people of color and women to apply to our program.

The MPP attracts applicants from around the globe and from a wide variety of professional and academic backgrounds.  While most enter the program with some work experience, others enter with only a solid undergradute degree.

Candidates for the MPP will have:

  • GRE scores in the upper quartile
  • a solid undergraduate record
  • a demonstrated interest or committment to public policy
  • relevant work (paid or unpaid) or community experiences

The Master of Public Policy (MPP) program at Johns Hopkins is now offered through the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Bloomberg School of Public Health.
