In July 2010, the Johns Hopkins University Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) and its master's program in public policy (MPP) joined the Bloomberg School of Public Health, the largest, oldest and most renowned school of public health in the world. IPS brings a broad public policy perspective to its new institutional home in the Department of Health Policy and Management.

The arrangement strengthens the features that have long made the Hopkins policy program a leader in the field. The program strikes a balance between quantitative and qualitative approaches to the analysis of policy problems, blending analytic perspectives from statistics, economics, sociology, ethics and political science into a coherent discipline that students apply to substantive fields of policy. The Hopkins MPP blends solid disciplinary training with opportunities to address real-world problems across a broad array of fields.

The Master of Public Policy (MPP) program at Johns Hopkins is now offered through the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Bloomberg School of Public Health.
