DrPH Admissions Requirements

Applicants should hold a master's degree in a field related to health care management and whose previous coursework includes the MPH core competencies.  Those without formal coursework in the core areas will need to meet the requirements while enrolled in the DrPH program.

Applications are considered by faculty admissions committees which review a range of criteria and consider the overall balance of each candidate's qualifications. A strong undergraduate or previous graduate level academic record is expected; for example, 3.25/4.0 GPA (B+). Official scores from the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) less than five years old are required for all applicants regardless of academic or professional background.

For applicants whose language of college instruction was not English, TOEFL scores are required, with a minimum score of 250 on the computer-based test and 100 on the web-based best.  Applications with TOEFL scores below the minimum are not considered competitive.

The personal statement is a central element to the application and is the applicant's opportunity to explain their commitment to the field of public health.  Applicants should also include a curriculum vitae (C.V.) or resume with their application.
