Doctoral Programs

Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Science Degree Programs
Usually five years in length, require coursework, on-campus residency, independent research, and dissertation. Students work with their faculty advisors to identify academic goals and curriculum, a dissertation committee and a novel and independent doctoral research project. Students go on to work in both academia and for public and private agencies in applied and theoretical epidemiology.

Doctoral of Public Health Degree Program
Ideal for mid-career public health professionals interested in gaining research skills in applied epidemiology and public policy.  Students work with faculty and community leaders to develop problem identification, analyses, and program implementation to improve the health of communities.  Graduates generally return to government or non-governmental organizations but may also choose to remain in academia.
