The Department has several training programs that complement the research-based training of doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows. NIEHS Training Program in Environmental Health Sciences The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences Training Program provides opportunities for predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees to prepare to become future leaders of individual and interdisciplinary research projects that seek to understand the role that environmental exposures play in the etiology and exacerbation of human disease at both the individual and population levels. Multidisciplinary Training Program in Lung Diseases The program provides multidisciplinary training opportunities in lung disease research at both the predoctoral and postdoctoral levels to develop outstanding, independent investigators interested in pulmonary disease. Occupational and Environmental Medicine Residency Program The two-year program is designed to prepare physicians for a career in the specialty of occupational and environmental medicine. Short-term Research Training in Environmental Health Sciences for Underrepresented Students The program provides opportunities for underrepresented students and students from disadvantaged backgrounds to be actively involved in ongoing research projects in environmental health. Connecting Students to Environmental Health Researchers The program provides short-term educational experiences for research to connect undergraduate and high school students with investigators involved in environmental health research at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. |
