How to Apply - PhD Program

To qualify for admission to the PhD program, individuals should have at least a bachelor's degree and a strong undergraduate academic record in the chemical, physical or biological sciences. Graduate Record Examination scores are also required. We particularly seek students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to laboratory research.

Potential students should submit a School Application, which should include the following documents:

  • Official transcripts
  • Official GRE scores
  • Three letters of recommendation

Letters of recommendation, preferably from supervisors of work applicants performed in a laboratory setting, are an important factor in the evaluation of candidates.

The priority deadline for the PhD program is December 22. The final deadline is January 12. To expedite your application until your official transcript is received, please send a list of undergraduate science courses and self-reported grades to Ms. Sharon Warner, Admissions Coordinator, at the address below.

Candidates for admission to the PhD program will be invited to the department for interviews. Travel expenses will be paid by the department.
