Malaria Prevention and Control  

Faculty from the Department of International Health work on a wide range of malaria-related programs from vaccine development to behavioral interventions. They collaborate with the schools of Medicine and Nursing as well as other departments in the Bloomberg School of Public Health.

International Health faculty are involved in research on (1) malaria vaccine development, (2) prevention and control of malaria in pregnancy, (3) prevention and treatment of malaria in Africa, (4) malaria in the Amazon, and the effects of deforestation and climate change on malaria, and (5) micronutrient deficiencies, anemia and malaria.

3) Prevention and treatment of malaria in Africa, evaluation of malaria control programs in Africa

4) Malaria in the Amazon (Ecuador and Peru), and the effects of deforestation, road construction and climate change on malaria

5) Micronutrient deficiency and treatment of anemia in malaria-endemic regions

6) Malaria in the hill tracts of Bangladesh
