Acknowledging Dr. Wang’s Contributions to the Johns Hopkins Global Center on Childhood Obesity
Dr. Youfa Wang is the Founding Director of the Johns Hopkins Global Center on Childhood Obesity. He will leave the University to become Professor and Chair of the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine at University at Buffalo, State University of New York, effective on November 1, 2013. He is an Associate Professor in the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health with an adjunct appointment in Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He is an internationally-known and well respected expert and leader in his field. Dr. Wang has made many contributions and played key leadership roles in research, teaching and service at Johns Hopkins since he joined the University in 2004. The University thanks Dr. Wang for his contributions to the creation of the Center and his work towards advancing the Center’s mission of curtailing the global childhood obesity epidemic.
