Health Policy and Management

Curriculum

The Johns Hopkins Fall Institute in Health Policy and Management provides the same academically rigorous courses offered during the traditional academic year at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, but compressed into a shorter period of time.

Courses for the Fall Institute will be held in Barcelona, Spain, in the JHU -UPF Public Policy Center, at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.  The courses are taught by distinguished faculty whose research and practice contribute new knowledge on a wide range of public health, health and social policy and health care issues, and who work with public health and health care leaders at local, national and international levels.

This is a unique opportunity to learn with colleagues and others how to apply theory to real-world situations. The flexibility of the institute’s curriculum allows participants to choose courses across a broad array of offerings, selecting courses that best meet individual educational and professional goals. To take full advantage of this learning opportunity, Fall Institute participants receive and read materials prior to the beginning of the course sessions, allowing for immediate and intensive in-class discussion and application of concepts to real-world examples. Courses are taught each day from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, thereby allowing participants to attend one course per day.  All instruction is in English, and students choosing to take a course for Johns Hopkins academic credit must hold a bachelor's degree.
