The final application and admission to the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Training Program is through the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. All students in the department with an interest in cardiovascular epidemiology are considered for funding by the training program. Each year, well-qualified predoctoral and postdoctoral applicants are selected as trainees to pursue master’s or doctoral degrees or undertake postdoctoral training under the preceptorship of an epidemiology faculty member. Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree and have coursework in biology and mathematics.
Only U.S. citizens and permanent U.S. residents are eligible for this training program. Admission criteria to the program include promise as a future researcher as well as compatibility with the existing mentors. The latter criterion is particularly important for research postdoctoral fellows, who must identify a research mentor prior to admission. Students interested in the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Training Program should contact Ms. Fran Burman, Academic Coordinator, Department of Epidemiology - Phone: 410-955-3926; Email: fburman@jhsph.edu. Students and fellows interested in consideration for training program funding simultaneous to their final application to the department should complete the CVD Epidemiology Training Program application. The support provided includes full tuition and a living expense stipend. Visit the National Institutes of Health website for details on fiscal year 2006. Submit application to:
