Overview

Junya Zhu is a health services researcher who works at the intersection of quality of care, patient-reported outcomes, and clinical effectiveness with a focus in cancer and traumatic injury. Her research includes the examination of treatment patterns and quality of care and their impact on patient outcomes, and the assessment of patient experience with hospital care and its variations across different levels (patient, department, hospital) of the hierarchy. Other work includes the development of the Patient Safety Culture in Chinese Hospitals Survey that is used in hospitals in China to identify areas for improvement and monitor changes over time. Much of her work involves the use of hierarchical modeling, structural equation modeling, and propensity score methods in disease registry, survey, administrative, and clinical datasets.
