Description:

All students must complete an internship to qualify for the MPP degree. Students are required to work at their internship placements for a minimum of 300 hours. Students are required to submit a policy portfolio to the MPP Office at the end of their internship: (1) A memo or paper that reflects on lessons learned during the placement and on the applicability of key concepts and skills learned during the first year of the masters program.

(2) A sample of a written work product that was produced on the job. Typically, this would be a background paper or memorandum.

Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:

  1. Apply the knowledge and skills obtained in the first year core courses to real-world public policy issues and problems
