313.792.81 COST-EFFECTIVENESS METHODOLOGICAL EXERCISES
- Kevin Frick
Familiarizes students with the process of setting up all steps of a cost-effectiveness analysis using spreadsheet software; calculating of incremental cost-effectiveness ratios and the use of graphs to assist in the interpretation of cost-effectiveness results; adjusting for cost data collected over time and discounting costs and outcomes; modeling; measuring health utility; calculating quality adjusted life year and disability adjusted life year; performing non-probabilistic sensitivity analysis; and performing probabilistic sensitivity analyses. This set of techniques is fundamental to the conduct of a cost-effectiveness analysis in any setting.
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to: 1) setup each step in a cost-effectiveness analysis;
(2) perform all steps of a cost-effectiveness analysis using a spreadsheet;
(3) describe the steps of a cost-effectiveness analysis and interpret the results of the cost-effectiveness analysis.
Introduction to Online Learning is required prior to participating in any of the School's Internet-based courses. and 313.790 Understanding Cost-Effectiveness
