Description:

Introduces work undertaken in health policy settings and prepares MSPH students in Health Policy and Management for the field placement requirement in the second year of the program.

Student Evaluation: Student evaluation based on class participation and written assignments.
Learning Objective:

This course should make it possible for students to: •Define Health Policy. •Identify major arenas of health policy work. •Understand the scope of health policy work: what do health policy analysts do? •Develop a professional resume targeted toward future employers. •Write attention-getting cover letters to accompany resumes. •Begin the process of career networking: start a jobs database, investigate interest areas, understand the power of personal contacts.

Enrollment Restriction: Restricted to MSPH in Health Policy degree candidates
