Description
Introduces students to policy analysis and issues in reproductive health, especially international family planning. Students learn how to analyze policy-making processes and ways to influence these processes through evidence-based advocacy. Focuses on training in the Spitfire Strategies Smart Chart™ approach to advocacy. Uses case studies to analyze policies. Special focus is given to FP2020, the international initiative launched at the London Summit on Family Planning in 2012. The instructor presents an “insider’s” perspective for most cases and draws heavily on the Advance Family Planning, an evidence-based, multi-country advocacy project.
