Description
Introduces students to commonly used terminology and concepts in health informatics. Offers students a look into the current developments and trends in the field of informatics. Prepares students with no or little informatics experiences to take the Introduction to informatics courses offered during the regular school year and explores the different options available to them in the field of Public Health Informatics.
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
  1. Describe key definitions and concepts that are used in the field of health informatics
  2. Explore the current trends and topics in the field of health informatics (m-health, population health, clinical informatics, public health informatics)
  3. Exercise the roles and responsibilities of the different participants involved in informatics projects through a hands-on, in-class activity
