Community Food Assessment
With funding from the UPS Foundation and in association with the Community Food Security Coalition, the Center for a Livable Future worked with a neighborhood coalition in Southwest Baltimore, Operation ReachOut Southwest (OROSW), to conduct a community food assessment. The two-part assessment mapped the type and cost of food offered in food stores; and surveyed residents to investigate their experiences accessing food in their neighborhood. Using the results of the study, Eating for the Future program staff will work with OROSW to develop an action plan for improving access to healthier food alternatives. ORSOW hosted a Fall Harvest Fest and the Center for a Livable Future participated with a Meatless Monday display. Results from Community Food Assessment in Southwest Baltimore
