The CIR Training Group has more than 15 years of history providing investigators, research coordinators, clinical monitors, and other trial associated personnel with training in Phase I and II clinical vaccine trial conduct and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) in the U.S. and abroad through both classroom-based workshops and online courses. Our experience includes:
- Primary GCP and vaccine trial training group for the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) from 2001 to 2008 in Africa and Asia
- GCP certification workshops in Zambia, Rwanda, South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, India and United Kingdom involving 16 clinical trial sites and over 700 participants
- Developed and delivered training module for vaccine manufacturers and regulatory agencies across Latin America and Asia for the WHO Global Training Network program in Brazil (2002) and Thailand (2003)
- GCP training workshop at the 2004 World AIDS Conference in Bangkok, Thailand
- Center for Immunization Research site GCP and Code of Federal Regulations training for investigators, faculty, and staff involved in conducing clinical trials
- 2003 Summer Vaccine Institute training “AIDS Vaccine Trial Conduct” involving international clinical investigators
- Annual workshops at the Johns Hopkins University Fogarty AIDS International Training & Research Program Summer Program
