The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health renewed its cooperative agreement with the Spanish Ministry of Health this month. As they have for the past 14 years, Johns Hopkins faculty members will continue to teach and conduct research with Spanish colleagues and advise the Ministry of Health.
Dr. Alfred Sommer, dean of the School of Public Health, signed the agreement on Friday, February 27, during a visit with Dr. Nelly Garcia Lopez, dean of the National School of Public Health of Spain and vice-president of the Teaching and Research Division of the Spanish Ministry of Health.
As a new initiative under this cooperative agreement, Dr. Benjamin Caballero, director of the Center for Human Nutrition, will offer the Principles of Human Nutrition course online to students at the Spanish Ministry of Health beginning later this year.
While the Principles of Human Nutrition course is already offered online in English through Johns Hopkins, this will be the first time the course will be taught in Spanish and offered directly through the Spanish Ministry. |
