Ms. Cheslack-Postava received her master of science degree in public health from Emory University, where her thesis research looked at the association between exposure to polybrominated biphenyls, a persistent bioaccumulative chemical, and spontaneous abortion. She received her bachelor of science degree in biology from Haverford College, and is currently working towards a doctoral degree in epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Ms. Cheslack-Postava has a background in environmental epidemiology with an interest in endocrine and neurodevelopmental effects of environmental exposures. At Emory and Johns Hopkins Universities, she has participated in lab, field, and data analysis work for several studies on human exposure to and health effects associated with air pollution. With Eastern Research Group, she worked at ATSDR in Atlanta, GA, assisting in risk assessment for exposure to PCBs and lead. Additionally, while at Emory University, she analyzed data and contributed to writing papers and grants for the Michigan Female Health Study, which examines the long term health of a cohort of women exposed to PBB and their prenatally exposed offspring.
