"Public Health in Latin America", Special Guest Lecture by Dr. Alfredo Palacio, MD

The LPHN has organized a special guest lecture by former Ecuadorian President and past Minister of Health, Dr. Alfredo Palacio, M.D. Open to the entire student body, Dr. Palacio will share his reflections on leadership and public health as former head of state.

In recognition of outstanding service, Johns Hopkins will award Dr. Palacio an honorary doctorate degree at this event. Following the lecture, Dr. Palacio’s will field student questions and may sign copies of his recently published book. Accompanying the ex-president will be his daughter Dr. Anna Palacio, M.D, a MPH alumna from Johns Hopkins and professor at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and Dr. Carlos Ortega, president of Universidad Espíritu Santo, a prestigious university in Ecuador.
