Dean's Regional Receptions
Boston, MA - March 4th, 2015
Dean Klag visited with alumni and friends of the School in the Boston area at The State Room on March 4th. Bostonians showed up in great numbers despite the record-breaking snow the area saw through the winter. Alumni from a variety of backgrounds and age ranges enjoyed networking and learning about some of the latest School updates from the Dean, including an announcement of the newly established Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion.

Washington, DC - November 5th, 2014
A Dean's Reception focused on the ethics of the response to the Ebola crisis was held at The Hay-Adams Hotel on November 5th. Jeff Kahn, PhD, MPH '88, gave a brief presentation and opened the floor to questions from over 90 alumni and friends of the School. Bay Area, CA - July 20th, 2014
On July 20th, Dean Klag, along with alumni and friends, enjoyed networking and chatting about School updates at the Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club in Menlo Park. Dean Klag discussed School information about the growing trend in massive online open courses, the Wendy Klag center, trivia about the School and the Prescription Drug Abuse Town Hall. Altogether, we have over 200 JHSPH alumni in the Bay Area, and over 2,000 in California as a whole!
New York City - April 28th, 2014
The Dean hosted over 50 alumni and friends at The Princeton Club in late April, where he unveiled the newly completed Rising to the Challenge video. This video addresses how the Bloomberg School is preparing the next generation of leaders. You can view it now by clicking here.
Los Angeles - January 19th, 2014
Although the new year brought near zero temperatures to Baltimore, it also brought the Dean to sunny California where he visited with alumni and friends. At the Dean's Reception in Santa Monica, those who attended enjoyed hearing a "State of the School" presentation by the Dean, spending time in each other's company, and learning about the new ways the School is engaging with alumni around the globe.
Atlanta - December 10, 2013
On December 10th, Dr. Marie Diener-West, PhD '84, Chair of the Master of Public Health program, traveled to Atlanta, GA for the second of this year's Dean's Receptions. Over forty alumni attended this event and enjoyed reconnecting with each other and chatting with Dr. Diener-West about the many exciting happenings at the School, which include the recent opening of the Wendy Klag Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, the celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Discovery of Vitamins, and the School's involvement in the third International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) held by the Gates Institute.
