Research and Professional Experience
Dr. Seplaki's research focuses on the biodemography of aging and the social, economic and biological determinants of health and function.  His primary area of research focuses on measurement and estimation issues in the relationships between life challenges, the social environment, and physical and mental health in older populations.  His work investigates a range of indicators spanning several physiological systems, with the goal of understanding subclinical disease processes like allostatic load and frailty, and developing summary measures of health risk related to multisystem dysregulation.  Dr. Seplaki is currently a co-Investigator on the Cardiovascular Health study and the Women’s Health and Aging Studies.

Honors and Awards
RAND Summer Institute Full Scholarship, RAND Summer Institute on the Demography, Economics, and Epidemiology of Aging, 2003
