In addition to the members of our Advisory Boards, the Center for Adolescent Health is composed of a team of faculty, staff and affiliates dedicated to improving the health and well-being of young people in urban environments.

As Center Administrator, Clarice manages the financial and day-to-day operational tasks of the Center. She has been with Johns Hopkins University for more than 23 years and before coming to the Center was a Senior Research Service Analyst at the Department of Radiology. Back to Top
Dr. Jernigan's work has focused on public health practice with a particular interest in alcohol policy. He has written about and worked extensively in the field of media advocacy, the strategic use of mass media to influence public health policy. He has also served as an advisor to the World Health Organization and the World Bank on the role of alcohol in health and development. Dr. Jernigan was the founding research director of the Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth at Georgetown University and in that capacity pioneered in new forms of surveillance of the levels of risk posed to young people by exposure to alcohol advertising. Katrina Brooks is a Baltimore native with over ten years of service to children and families of Baltimore City. A graduate of Lincoln University with a master's degree in Human Service and a former community school coordinator and member of several citywide initiatives, Katrina brings a wealth of grassroots knowledge, personal and professional passion, and insight into her position as Community Relations Coordinator. Ms. Blanchard has been writing and editing for newspapers, magazines, and other publications since the age of 18. Her work has appeared in the Washington Post, Baltimore Sun, ADAM magazine, Style magazine, USA Today, Cosmopolitan, Psychology Today, Family Circle, Newsday, and many other national and regional publications. Ms. Tucker coordinates the HOPE and Healthy Minds at Work Projects. Her research interests focus on resiliency in youth. Prior to her work at the Center, Meg worked with the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases. She received her BS from the University of Maryland College Park in Family Studies and is a part-time master's student in the deaprtment of Health Behavior and Society at the Bloomberg School of Public Health where she focuses on health communication and community-based participatory research.
