Fall Open House FAQ's
- What is the best way to get to the Bloomberg School?
The Bloomberg School is located on the East Baltimore Medical Campus and is easily accessible by car, plane, or train! Directions and a campus map may be found on our website. Parking is limited, so we strongly encourage guests to use public transportation or the free Johns Hopkins shuttle bus running between Baltimore's Penn Station (train) and the Bloomberg School. JHU shuttle drivers may (or may not) ask passengers to provide a letter of purpose. To request a letter of purpose, please email email@example.com.
- Where should I park?
Again, on-campus visitor parking is limited. We strongly encourage you to take public transportation. If you must drive, the two garages below offer visitor parking for $12/day or on a per hour basis. We are not able to validate or reimburse parking fees.
Please be careful to observe parking restrictions around the East Baltimore campus. On-street parking is not advised and visitors should be mindful of street signs alerting them of parking restrictions in the surrounding community.
- What time should I arrive?
Please plan to arrive at the Bloomberg School no later than 12:50 p.m. on Monday, October 14 so you have time to register. The first presentation will begin promptly at 1 p.m.
- Is there a recommended dress attire?
Guests typically dress however they are most comfortable -- from business casual to casual. Keep in mind that you will be hearing from and potentially mingling with School deans, faculty, staff and current students throughout the day.
- Who will I be meeting with at the event?
You will be hearing presentations from School deans and various student service offices. Then, based on your interests, you will have the opportunity to meet with faculty, staff and students from our ten different departments and Schoolwide Master of Public Health (MPH) program. Some departments/programs will hold additional breakout sessions as well.
- Where can I find a campus map?
You can view a map of the East Baltimore Medical Campus (schools of medicine, nursing and public health, as well as the Johns Hopkins Hospital) on the Hopkins medicine website.
- Is there housing available?
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide housing for Open House. The JHMI Housing Office has, however, provided a helpful list of local hotels--some with discounted rates. Please remember rates and room availability are subject to change. Contact the hotel directly for the most up to date information.
