Brown Scholars

Yeeli Mui

Originally from Bakersfield, California, Yeeli Mui attended the University of California, Irvine, where her interest in public health originated. As part of her undergraduate thesis, Mui assessed the impact of obesity interventions in two Southern California school districts.

Keen on better understanding the factors influencing health behavior and strategies for changing them, Mui pursued her MPH at the Yale School of Public Health, where she also developed a deeper appreciation for nutrition issues while working on community-based initiatives at the Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity and CARE (Community Alliance for Research and Engagement).

Since 2010, she has provided strategic and communications support to the National Collaborative on Childhood Obesity Research (NCCOR)—a partnership among childhood obesity researchers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institutes of Health, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and U.S. Department of Agriculture.
