As part of your application, the Bloomberg School requires official academic records, transcripts or mark sheets for all college-level coursework. These records should include grades/marks for all courses and degrees earned, if applicable. Please request your previous institutions to send your transcripts directly to Admissions Services at the address below. If you have transcripts sent to you, DO NOT OPEN THEM. Place in another envelope and mail to our office. To be considered official, transcripts must arrive in a sealed envelope signed across the seal by the proper authority. Your personal or Internet self-service copies are not considered official. Please do not submit your own personal documents, as they will not be returned to you. Additionally, if the last name on the transcript differs from the last name on your application, please be sure to notify our office. If you are an international student or a U.S. student who has studied internationally, please pay particular attention to the instructions below regarding international academic records. Official, or attested, academic records showing courses taken, grades or marks received, and the award of a degree, if applicable, are a requirement for admission to a degree program or postdoctoral fellowship at the Bloomberg School. Photocopies and your personal copies are not considered official. Please do not submit your own personal documents, as they will not be returned to you. Recognizing that academic records and degree certificates from institutions outside the U.S. are sometimes difficult to obtain, we urge you to begin the process well in advance of our application deadline.
Applicants who will be submitting documentation from post-secondary institutions outside the U.S. will be required to have their documents evaluated by an external credentialing agency. Please be sure to only use a credentialing agency that will include a copy of the transcript or mark sheet in their credentialing report. If the copy of the transcript or marks sheet is not included in the evaluation sent to us, it will not be considered sufficient for review. Applicants may use any of the U.S. services, but they need to make sure a copy of their transcripts will be included. Please be sure to order a course-by-course evaluation. Applicants should make these requirements known at the onset of their evaluation request. Please list the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health as a recipient for your credentialing evaluations. Please be advised that sending an additional personal copy of your transcript or marks sheets directly to us to supplement the evaluation may not be sufficient for review. We need to see the documents used by the agency to complete your credentials evaluation. If the credentialing report does include a copy of the transcript or marks sheet, and Admissions Services considers this evaluation sufficient, we will use this documentation for the review of your application and to satisfy official JHSPH transcript contingencies. While we do not endorse one particular evaluation agency, we have confirmed that the following agencies will meet our evaluation requirements and submit copies of transcripts/mark sheets with the evaluation.
