Q&A with the director and panelists from CHAI (Counselors Helping South Asians/Indians) and Reception to follow film screening. Hiding Divya explores the stigma against mental illness in the South Asian American community. The director says, "people throughout the world - even in America - struggle with the 'disgrace' of a family member with emotional problems. Compounded in the South Asian and Asian American communities, stigma and shame are barriers to treatment." We believe this film is an accessible and enjoyable starting point for an important, emerging area in Public Health: barriers to accessing care in America, particularly in minority groups where specific cultural factors are at play. We hope this will be a rich discussion about mental health and minority communities.

They provide services such as immunizations, or share knowledge through public health education campaigns, or advocate for practice/policy change in support of positive health outcomes. But how do nonprofits and funders know their interventions are making progress or are successful? What approaches and tools exist to support information gathering, decision making, and strategy revisions? What capacity and practices exist in the nonprofit sector to support evaluation? He is one of the co-initiators of Community Health Cell, a professional resource group in community health and public health rooted in civil society and has also spearheaded The People's Health Movement and was its Global Coordinator until 2006.
