J.B. Grant Society Officer Positions

President: The President is responsible for overseeing the programs of the Society, for liasing with school officials, for convening officer meetings, and for introducing speakers at Society events. The President should have strong organizational skills, be comfortable public speaking, and be willing to put in a significant among of time throughout the year to keep the society running.

Events Coordinators: The Events Coordinators are the primary officers responsible for organizing the Society's events. These positions are time consuming, but rewarding. The Event Coordinators will invite speakers, provide logistical support to the speakers, work with school administrators to reserve event locations and support services, and be responsible for advertising events. The Event Coordinator positions require very organized people who are willing to commit a significant amount of time to the Society.

Treasurer: The Treasurer is responsible for the Society's budget. We have a sizeable budget each year, but it goes quick. The treasurer is responsible for re-imbursements, for paying bills from events and field trips, and for providing regular updates to the other officers about the Society's finances.

Field Trip Coordinators: The Field Trip Coordinator is responsible for all scheduling, organizing, and budgeting for all Society field trips. Historically, the Society has taken field trips to Washington DC, New York City, and a rafting trip at the end of the year.

International Trip Coordinators: This officer will be responsible for recruiting, planning, budgeting and fundraising for the International Trip. Please e-mail jbg@jhsph.edu ASAP if you are interested in this position and have not already signalled that at our orientation meeting. This will NOT be an elected position, but will be selected by August 12. Your interest in this position does not preclude you from running from another officer position.

UNICEF Program Coordinator: The UNICEF Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the UNICEF Volunteers Program. The coordinator will: 1)recruit and schedule volunteers; 2)communicate with the UNICEF office about scheduling; and 3)coordinate training and feedback to the volunteers.

Public Affairs Liaison: The Public Affairs Liaison works with the Anna Baetjer Society and the JB Grant Society. This person is responsible for maintaining the Societies' websites as well as working with the Public Affairs Office to promote major events.
