2.  Meetings with the EPA Offices of Water and International Affairs
3.  Meeting with the Health Policy Director for Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee
4.  Touring the Capitol with Senator Sarbannes's staff members

Mock Interviews: Catholic Relief Services
Members of the J.B. Grant Society traveled with Professor Earl Wall to Catholic Relief Services for a mock interviews.

Panel: Balancing Work and Family in International Work
Joanne Katz, ScD, Radia Daoussi, MA, MA, Earl Wall, MS, and Laura Caulfield, PhD, discussed the family challenges associated with careers in international health.  They focused on parenting children in a variety of settings.

Charles Theatre Movie and Discussion: The Boys of Baraka
The J.B. Grant Society provided a free viewing of the documentary at the Charles Theatre for 500 students, faculty members, and specially invited community members.  Eleven students from the school attended and graciously responded to the audience's questions after the screening.

Movie and Discussion: The Boys of Baraka
A specially invited group of faculty members and outside guests previewed a prerelease version of the
documentary, which follows the experience of Baltimore inner-city youth that attended middle school in Kenya for one to two years.  Four students from the school and one of the students' families attended and graciously responded to questions.

The J.B. Grant Society and African Public Health Network cosponsored an international potluck dinner at the home of Radia Daoussi and her family.

Speaker: Stephen Lewis
The UN Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa, who is listed by TIME magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2005, talked about his position on HIV and public health in Africa. Mr. Lewis is currently a Commissioner for the World Health Organization's commission on the Social Determinants of Health, with former tenures as special advisor on Africa to the UN Secretary-General, and deputy executive director of UNICEF. Mr. Lewis is a Senior Advisor to the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University and is a director of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, which is dedicated to easing the pain of HIV/AIDS in Africa.

Report Launch: UNICEF's State of the World's Children Report 2006
J.B. Grant hosted the national release of "UNICEF's State of the World's Children Report 2006."  The release featured a welcome by Michael Klag, Dean of JHSPH, and discussions by Rudolph Knippenberg, Principal UNICEF Advisor on Health Policies and Systems, Andrea Rossi, UNICEF's Focal Point for Child Trafficking and Migration, and Christine Sarbanes, Director of the Mid-Atlantic Region's U.S. Fund for UNICEF.

J.B. Grant members assisted UNICEF representatives in raising money via holiday card sales at JHSPH concurrent with the release of the UNICEF State of the World's Children Report 2006.
