This SWEET Seminar will give you an overview of the Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative and the Pediatric AIDS Corps job description. You will be able to hear personal experiences from returning pediatricians on delivering HIV care to children in Lesotho, Swaziland and Burkina Faso.

The Role of Culture and Context in Developing Sexual Health Promotion Programs for Gay/Bisexual Male Youth

Dr. Harper is a Professor in the Department of Psychology and Director of the Master of Public Health Program at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. He is a member of the Behavioral Leadership Group within the National Institutes of Health's (NIH) Adolescent Medicine Trials Network for HIV/AIDS Interventions, and was recently appointed to the NIH Office of AIDS Research Advisory Council by the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services. Dr. Harper began conducting HIV prevention work early in the epidemic and has been involved in various forms of adolescent‐focused HIV prevention, treatment, research, advocacy, and community organizing for over 23 years.

With experience as a healthcare lobbyist, Theresa Gorenc will share her experiences in the field including an overview of the role of healthcare lobbyists in the policy-making process, how one becomes a lobbyist, and the pros and cons of the field.
