ADMISSIONS

The DrPH degree is designed for the student who already has a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree or an equivalent master’s. Beyond the MPH degree, admission requirements include the following:

  • A minimum of three years of full-time work experience in health or human services
  • In addition to specific departmental requirements, evidence of quantitative or evaluative skills and ability, usually in the form of scores on recent GRE or other standardized exams ideally taken in the last five years
  • If applicable, results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

Admission to the DrPH program is determined by each department offering the degree. Admission is based on evaluation of the applicant’s educational and work experience, past academic performance and potential to become a leader in public health. Questions about specific admission requirements for the DrPH should be addressed to both the DrPH program office and the department of interest.
