How to Apply to a Certificate Program

Different certificates are open to different audiences. As such, there are different ways to apply.

Degree Students at the Bloomberg School of Public Health

Applicants who are currently matriculated at the Bloomberg School of Public Health are not required to submit a formal application through Admissions. However, they must notify their faculty sponsor(s) before beginning certificate course work.

Certificates are generally offered throughout the academic year; however due to when required courses are offered, some certificates may only be offered during particular start terms.

Graduate Degree Students at Other Johns Hopkins University Divisions

Applicants currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at JHU must apply to Bloomberg School certificates through the online application system.

Non Degree Applicants (For-Credit and Non-Credit)

Non-Degree applicants must apply through the online application system and pay the $45 application fee. Certificate applicants are not eligible for a fee waiver.

Notification of Admissions Decision

The review of certificate applications will vary from program to program, but applicants are typically notified 6-8 weeks from the receipt of all final required application documents by Admissions Services.

Admitted applicants must accept the offer of admission by logging back into their online account and accepting the offer of admission.  Certificate applicants are not required to pay an enrollment deposit, but must accept the offer of admission before beginning coursework.
