How to Apply to a Certificate Program

Different certificates are open to different audiences. As such, there are different ways to apply.

Degree Students at the Bloomberg School of Public Health

Applicants who are currently matriculated at the Bloomberg School of Public Health must review the table that shows application requirements for individual certificate programs.  In some cases, they will be required to complete a declaration of intent to complete the certificate (links are provided in the table) and in other cases, they are required to notify the faculty sponsor(s) or administrative contact before beginning certificate course work. Students enrolled in degree programs at JHSPH are not required to complete the School's electronic admissions application for new students, but most certificate programs do require notification prior to beginning coursework.

Certificate programs are generally offered throughout the academic year; however due to when required courses are offered, some certificate programs may have particular start terms. All JHSPH students wishing to apply for certificate programs must review the table of application procedures and deadlines.

Notification of Admissions Decision

The review of certificate applications will vary from program to program, but applicants are typically notified 6-8 weeks from the receipt of all final required application documents by Admissions Services.

Admitted applicants must accept the offer of admission by logging back into their online account and accepting the offer of admission.  Certificate applicants are not required to pay an enrollment deposit, but must accept the offer of admission before beginning coursework.
