MD/PhD Degree

The MD/PhD degree program is offered in conjunction with the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.  Complete details are available through the MD/PhD Program's website.  Prospective students should submit application materials to the Admissions Office of the School of Medicine.  Admitted students complete two years of medical school before devoting full-time to their PhD studies.  Students who elect to do their PhD studies in a department in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health must be admitted to that department and enroll in the School.  Candidates for the MD/PhD degree must fulfill all of the normal requirements for the PhD degree.  After completion of the PhD degree requirements, students return to the School of Medicine to complete their MD degree.  Please contact the MD/PhD Program Administrator, Ms. Sharon Welling (swelling@jhmi.edu or 410.955.8543) if you have any questions regarding the Program, general information, admissions requirements, etc.
