Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

Pierre Coulombe, a leading expert in the cytoskeleton and underlying causes of diseases affecting the skin, joined the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology as the E.V. McCollum Professor and Chair in 2008. He is also a professor in the School of Medicine's Departments of Biological Chemistry and Dermatology.

Biostatistics

Karen Bandeen-Roche, an expert in the development, implementation and application of statistical models for problems which include underlying or unobservable processes of interest, currently serves as the chair of Department of Biostatistics. She is most deeply invested in the scientific area of gerontology.

Marsha Wills-Karp, PhD Marsha Wills-Karp, PhD, MS

Environmental Health Sciences

Marsha Wills-Karp, a leader in the study of the molecular mechanisms of asthma, joined the Department of Environmental Health Sciences as its chair in early 2012. She is also the founding director of the Division of Immunobiology in the Department of Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

Epidemiology

David Celentano is the Charles Armstrong Chair of the Department of Epidemiology. He holds joint appointments in the Departments of International Health, Health Policy and Management, Health, Behavior and Society and Medicine (School of Medicine). His research integrates behavioral science theory and research with epidemiology.

Health, Behavior and Society

David Holtgrave is currently the chair of the Department of Health, Behavior and Society. His research has focused on the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of a variety of HIV prevention and care interventions. He holds a joint appointment in the Department of Health Policy and Management.

Health Policy and Management

Ellen MacKenzie is the Fred and Julie Soper Professor and Chair of the Department of Health Policy and Management. Her research focuses on the impact of services and policies on traumatic injury. She holds a joint appointment in the Department of Biostatistics.

International Health

David Peters is the Edgar Berman Professor and chair of International Health. He is an expert in the development, monitoring and evaluation of health systems in low-income countries and has led projects aimed at improving health systems performance worldwide.

Mental Health

M. Daniele Fallin is the Sylvia and Harold Halpert Professor and chair of Mental Health. She is a genetic epidemiologist with a focus on understanding the interplay between genes and environmental risk factors for neuropsychiatric disorders.

Population, Family and Reproductive Health

Robert Blum is the William H. Gates Sr. Professor and Chair of the Department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health. He is an expert in adolescent behavior, sexual behavior, urban health and adolescent health.

W. Harry Feinstone Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology

Diane Griffin is the Alfred and Jill Sommer Professor and Chair of the W. Harry Feinstone Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology. She is a globally known expert in vaccine research, the Sindbis virus, measles and alphavirus infections.
