Karin Tobin, PhD Assistant Scientist/Project Director ktobin@jhsph.edu Dr. Tobin is an assistant scientist with the Department of Health, Behavior and Society. Her research interests include examination of the social and contextual factors associated with substance abuse and HIV risk, particularly with marginalized populations. She is currently involved with several NIDA and NIMH funded social-network oriented behavioral interventions with high-risk adults (domestically and internationally), investigation of risk factors associated with drug overdose and witness responses and translation of the SHIELD intervention for national dissemination. What I enjoy most about my job is the diversity of my responsibilities. I enjoy interacting with participants and learning about ways to help communities that are affected by HIV.
