| The Black Men's Health and Wellness program is a culturally-tailored, theoretically-based HIV prevention intervention targeting black men who have sex with men who may identify as straight, gay or bisexual. The intervention utilizes peer outreach and social network approaches. Individuals are trained in risk reduction and communication skills so that they can conduct HIV prevention outreach. A Community Advisory Board serves on this project to provide the study team with feedback and suggestions for refining the peer-based HIV prevention intervention, advise on recruitment and retention strategies, and ensure cultural relevance of the program. The Lighthouse Studies at Peer Point, a member of the Johns Hopkins family, supports an atmosphere free of discrimination on the basis of gender, marital status, pregnancy, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, or legally protected characteristic. |
