| The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of a peer-based, social-network-oriented, HIV prevention intervention that targets injection drug users in Chennai, India, and their risk networks. Injection drug users who are randomized into the intervention condition learn how to conduct HIV outreach among their drug-using partners and other social networks, so they can share strategies for reducing HIV and hepatitis infections. The Lighthouse Studies at Peer Point, a member of the Johns Hopkins family, supports an atmosphere free of discrimination on the basis of gender, marital status, pregnancy, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, or legally protected characteristic. |
