| Center for American Indian Health Introduction and Purpose Welcome to the Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health Training and Scholarship Program. We are pleased and honored to offer a wide array of paraprofessional and professional training opportunities for both current and emerging American Indian/Alaskan Native Health professionals. In September 2001, the Center, received a bequest from a longtime donor to launch a training and scholarship program for American Indians who aspire to dedicate their lives to serving the health needs of Indian country. An additional fund, the Erasmus Fund, was established in July 2004, which provides further support for American Indian/Alaskan Native scholars and faculty. These two funds have allowed the Center to launch a formal Training and Scholarship program. The Center is constantly working to devleop national training programs, increase scholrship resources, and provide a supportive environment which directly advances American Indian/Alaskan Native training in health.
